The Merry Wives of Windsor breaks

Discover what lies beneath the Elizabethan social order as Shakespeare’s raucous comedy The Merry Wives of Windsor reveals its wild, mythic and daring underbelly in the Globe Theatre this summer. Boisterous, disreputable knight Sir John Falstaff hatches a plan to restore his fortunes by seducing two wealthy housewives, Mistress Ford and Mistress Page. But the hunter becomes the hunted when, wise to his schemes and determined to get the last laugh, they decide to play a few tricks of their own… Middle class England dissolves into beautiful chaos in this unexpected story of mischief, madness and metamorphoses, directed by Globe Associate Artistic Director Sean Holmes (Much Ado About Nothing, 2024, The Comedy of Errors, 2023-24).
